History of Christian Media Ministries
ABOUT CHRISTIAN MEDIA MINISTRIES
Christian Media Ministries (CMM), a non-profit 501C3 ministry, owns and operates KCMM and KGVW radio stations.
KCMM exists to "To share the love and truth of Christ via music, ministry and education through the medium of radio and community focused events".
HISTORY
Christian Enterprises Incorporated was the original owner of KGVW.
Christian Enterprises Incorporated had its beginnings at a prayer meeting in Belgrade, Montana in 1957. Among those men who sought to put action behind the burden was Mr. Harold Erickson whose efforts were instrumental in putting KGVW on the air with Christian programming on February 2, 1959.
KGVW was originally organized under the incorporation authority of Kings Gardens of Seattle, WA---pioneers in Christian radio. Ownership was transferred in 1961 to Christian Enterprises Incorporated. From 1962 to 1977 Christian Enterprises grew and at one time owned and operated all the Christian radio stations in Montana.
The Christian Enterprise Network began to sell some of its stations in 1993. These stations were first offered for purchase to those who had management positions. Such was the case with KGVW.
In July of 1995, Gallatin Valley Witness, Inc. was incorporated as a company of Montana and it purchased KGVW on November 1, 1995.
Christian Media Ministries Inc. (CMM) was organized in August of 1999 for the purpose of presenting the gospel of Jesus Christ through the operation of an FM radio station in Belgrade, MT. This company was the result of the burden and vision of the management of KGVW to meet the music needs of a younger generation.
On August 13, 2002, KCMM 99.1 "The One" went on the air and has been on the air 24 hours a day since that date.
